About the Committee

Agenda: Post-Assad Syria: Economic Reconstruction and Social Cohesion for Sustainable Peacebuilding

Committee Email: adhoc@ratobangala.edu.np

Welcome to the Ad Hoc Committee — a challenge designed not just to test your research skills, but to push your adaptability, strategy, and wit under pressure. This is no ordinary MUN experience; this is where sharp minds meet unpredictability. Delegates will be expected to operate in high-stakes environments, respond to complex crises, and demonstrate not just knowledge, but true diplomatic and intellectual agility.

In keeping with the spirit of competition and authentic debate, the agenda will not be revealed until the latest possible time — most likely the day before the conference. This ensures that participants cannot rely on pre-written content or rote memorization. Expect the unexpected. The Ad Hoc Committee promises a dynamic blend of real-time challenges, rapid decision-making, and non-stop engagement. Stay sharp — your radar should be on from the moment you walk in.

The Executive Board

Chair

Kamakxi Upadhyay

Kamakxi Upadhyay is the kind of person who effortlessly commands attention the moment she enters a room. Bold and outspoken, she isn't afraid to voice her thoughts, especially when it comes to standing up for what's right. Her humor is one of a kind—sharp, unpredictable, and always perfectly timed, leaving people laughing long after the moment has passed. As athletic as she is expressive, Kamakxi thrives on challenge and competition, channeling her strength with grace. She’s extroverted and magnetic yet grounded in a deep kindness that humbles those around her. With every interaction, she leaves people feeling seen, inspired, and a little more confident.

Vice-Chair

Kritagya Shrestha

If you ever catch Kritagya staring off into space, don’t worry. He’s probably solving a math problem or thinking about the slow progress of his “grow a garden” project. A self-proclaimed math and computer science addict, Kritagya says his world revolves around numbers, codes, and the occasional Londonderry that fuels his unstoppable energy. His dad jokes? Legendary. Whether it’s a perfectly timed pun or a groan-worthy one-liner, Kritagya can turn any study session into a comedy show. But don’t be fooled; behind the humor is a brain that untangles complex equations as if finding solutions is second nature. You’ll find him juggling Model UN crises, last-minute posters, and humming everything from “Don’t stop believin’” to “Hit me baby one more time.” His music taste is eclectic, to say the least; indeed, he often dragging friends into weird indie tracks none of them asked for. Plans to “get work done” usually spiral into sing-alongs, pineapple pizza debates, or urgent Londonderry hunts. Distractions? Plenty. But somehow, Kritagya always pulls through—eventually. Spot someone cracking quantum physics jokes, munching Londonderry, switching between spreadsheets and stand-up comedy, and randomly bursting into song? That’s Kritagya, a math whiz, dad joke champ, music enthusiast with questionable playlists, and the king of delightful distractions.

Moderator

Jemimah George

Sweet as honey, Jemimah is the most affable person you’ll ever meet. Her friendly smile and approachable demeanour will instantly put you at ease. But her quiet disposition is a clever misdirection to the chattiness she actually possesses. If the topic is airplanes, music or conspiracy theories, she can talk for hours. A multi-instrumentalist, from piano to guitar to sarangi, she’s got all the musical prowess in her bag. You may even catch her humming a Beatles tune if you’re sneaky enough. Not only that, her impeccable accents (French and Texan, especially) will indeed entertain you. Jemimah, though she looks reserved and shy, is full of surprises. Her delightful presence as a moderator will undoubtedly make sure the committee is enjoyable, runs smoothly, and that all delegates feel heard and comfortable.
