About the Committee
Agenda: १.
Committee Email: hor@ratobangala.edu.np
The Executive Board
Chair
Larak Yakthumba
Let’s be real. Parliamentary procedure isn’t always the most exciting thing. But with Larak in the chair’s seat, even discussing procedure works. He brings rhythm, a bit of wit, and the right amount of organized chaos to keep things interesting and running smoothly.
Larak’s the kind of person who’ll remind you of the rules with a grin and still somehow make breaking them feel fun--within reason of course. He knows how to turn intense debates into easy, meaningful conversations, and makes diplomacy feel less like a competition and more like a group project you’d actually enjoy.
He keeps things light without letting them go off track. He’s approachable and jokes around during unmods, but when things need direction, he’s already ahead of it—calm and collected. For Larak, MUN has always been more about people than politics. It’s about creating a space where everyone gets to speak, learn something new, and maybe even laugh a little between amendments.
At the end of the day, if you’re looking for a chair who’s fair, focused, and genuinely fun to work with, you’re in good hands.
Vice-Chair
Pranav Singh Thapa
Pranav is a true fan of the dreaded Samajik (Social Studies), yes, the subject everyone else hates! He's passionate and knows a nerdy amount about Nepal's history, politics, economics, and geopolitics because, basically, he never skipped a single Samajik class.
Speaking of passionate deep-dives, his "passion" for the Durbar Hatya Kanda is legendary! He's not just interested; he practically runs a one-man investigative committee. He'll passionately re-enact various conspiracy theories in great detail, complete with sound effects and dramatic pauses. Forget the official report; he's got his own "insider" theories, possibly involving aliens or perhaps a very disgruntled palace chef. He'll argue for hours about bullet trajectories and who was really where, turning a tragic historical event into his personal, slightly unhinged, true-crime podcast.
In all, Pranav is the type of guy who's practically destined to be "that uncle" at every friend and family gathering, the one who hijacks dinner conversations with unsolicited, hour-long political analyses. From debates about Khas Empire achievements to endless discussions on the nuances of the Panchayat System, you know he's already plotting his next Dashain political monologue.
Moderator
Chandani Parajuli
Chandani is not just a name, she’s a whole vibe. Walk into her committee and you’ll instantly feel her balance-- calm and respect and yet full of energy. She is the kind of person who listens before she speaks, but when she does speak, well, expect something sharp, bold, and completely on point.
As the Moderator of the House of Representatives, this girl isn’t just managing the room, she’s setting the tone. She wants debates that matter, delegates who care, and a committee that feels alive, not just busy. She’s someone who genuinely enjoys digging into political realities, the corruption no one talks about, the power games behind policies, the good, the bad, and everything in between. From shady politicians to the real-world impact of their decisions, she’s got questions, and if there’s a loophole in your logic, she’ll find it (and probably throw in a side-eye while she’s at it).
Need help? She’s already one step ahead. Feeling lost? She’ll guide you back. Slacking off? Don’t think she won’t notice. Oh, and did we mention she has ridiculously nice handwriting? If your name ends up on a certificate written by her, consider yourself officially blessed. So, delegates bring your fire, bring your facts, and bring your best, because she expects nothing less.
